Food Fantasies

We all have a different taste. We eat as we are pleased. Our foods show our customs and cultures. It's a blend of traditions and it reflects our environment too. It is a common thing that unites people of different parts of the world. We ignore all differences when it comes to food. Good taste and recipes have joined many nations and are still doing so. Spices and herbs from all around the world are now found in every kitchen. No racism or ethnicity comes in the world of food.

If you are hungry for some snacks, junk food, sugar based food and chocolates, you are not lonely. We all feel the same in our lives at some point. Our taste buds are hungrier than our tummy. We have variety of cravings, even if we are not pregnant. Funny as it sounds; you might also feel to eat up everything in the fridge. This can happen at any time of the day or at the middle of the night. A big bag of crunchy chips and your hand stuffing it in your mouth. As weird as it sounds but we all do it. Potato, corn, tortilla chips are all just empty calories with no long lasting satisfaction. That's why you end up on eating more Junk food.

Temptations for carbohydrates such as chips are not unusual. Advanced carbohydrates change into sugar more quickly than any other food. It also makes you feel full sooner as compared to other foods. But it is not long term feeling. You will feel starved again soon. It's sarcastic that a lot of the food and drink we might be hungry for are trademark restaurant platters. It never means that you go out and spend a lot on outdoor eating. You can enjoy anything at home too.

Grab a pack of nachos. Top them up with fridge left over like, baked chicken, beans, chilies, pickles etc. Make your own sauce to dress it up a bit. Use some mayo, cheese or guacamole. Play with the stuff in your kitchen and have fun. Spoil your taste buds!

When it comes to ice creams, it is definitely one of the top 10 cravings. You don't want to quit it but how can you eat it in a healthy way? With all that sugar and lump of calories packed in a deliciously irresistible scoop, it's not that easy. Solution is a low calorie ice cream. Yes, this thing really exists.

Italian version called gelato is low in calorie and small serving is full enough to satisfy your craving. It is strong in flavor and has a thicker consistency that satisfies you more. Ice cream portion size is the key to control. If you keep it small and simple, it will be a healthy snack. Top it with some nuts, some fruit and chocolate you can get a lot out of a plain vanilla ice cream. Frozen yogurt serves the same purpose and is a must try.

Just a little focus on calorie intake can make your cravings even healthier. Just proper planning and decisions will help you in a long term.
